Nokia 7 Plus gets March Security Update

After a brief roll out of the March Security update to Nokia 7 Plus in India, the update is now rolling out globally.

This Android security update is slightly different from the Indian version which weighs around 375 MB in size. The update is available for users in Oman, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Netherlands, Pakistan, and other Asian countries. As per the screenshot, the Nokia 7 Plus Android Pie build with V 3.15F in the March security update.

This update weighs around 1.4 GB and includes improved system stability and user interface enhancements, carrying the name as Google Security Patch 2019-03. So, that’s a regular set to novelties in the update and HMD continues to live upon its promise.

If you have received the update notification, then tap on it to download and then install it. Ensure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network because the update file size is 1.4 GB approximately. The total estimated time for updating your device is around 15-20 minutes, which again depends on the Internet/Wi-Fi speed.

Nokia 2.1 gets Android 9.0 Pie Update Globally

HMD Global continues to impress when it comes to providing software upgrades. The Finnish smartphone company provides software support for up to two years from the launch date of the device. After Nokia 6, it’s the turn for the entry-level Nokia 2.1 smartphone which receives the Android 9.0 Pie update today.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global confirmed this news of Android Pie for Nokia 2.1 via his Twitter account. He said :

The update is available for download via Over the Air (OTA) and HMD Global has also sent out the update notification on your device. It should be available. If you have received the update notification, then tap on it to download it first and then it will install automatically after your phone gets restarted. It’s recommended to connect your device to available Wi-Fi as it can incur data charges on your mobile if you use 4G VoLTE.

Please make sure that the complete process of upgrading your Nokia 2.1 phone to Android pie can take up to 20-25 minutes. Once the firmware is applied, the apps will be optimized for the latest Android version. Also, you shouldn’t worry about data on your device because nothing will happen to it.

Nokia has kept their promise in terms of delivering firmware upgrade and they will continue to do so in upcoming days as well. They will also upgrade the older Nokia Android phone. The Nokia 2.1 was launched in August 2018 and it’s expected to get upcoming Android Q version as well.
