Nokia 5 gets Android Pie Update; Global Roll out Begins

HMD Global has started rolling out the Android Pie update to Nokia 5 smartphone. The update was expected because Nokia has promised software upgrade to their devices for a period of two years from the launch date.

The Nokia 5 was launched in 2017 running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Last year the device was upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo version and this year the Pie update is available. It’s quite surprising to see Nokia keeping their promise.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global confirmed the Nokia 5 Android pie update roll out through his Twitter handle.

The update is available for download via over the air upgrade and the company has also sent out of date notification notifying all the users.

If you have received an update notification then in order to upgrade, you should tap on it to proceed. just before proceeding you should ensure that you have enough battery left on your device and also have 2 GB of space available on your device internal storage.
